Dear friends,

now that you know where Vincotto Primitivo is produced, I would like to tell you something about the land where it is made and its history.

A very important and particular element is the stone from Lecce, usually called “Pietra Leccese”

Due to its specific characteristics, some writers of the ancient literature dedicated to it some lines in their works where we can read about this particular kind of natural stone which is particularly ductile and malleable and for this reason used to create beautiful sculptures and monuments that still adorn the city of Lecce.

Moreover the Leccese stone is extracted from open quarries that can be found in all the Salentine peninsula and especially nearby Lecce.
